In celebratory fashion, CPHFW opened this past week with a grand opening outdoor reception that was kicked off with a welcome speech that went live as well! This was followed up by A. Roege Hove as the opening show. This show was reminiscent of one of the themes at Bogota Fashion Week from earlier this year. Models being styled on the runway with a touch of risqué with minimal clothing coverage even after they have been adorned with the clothing from the collection they are modeling down the runway. It alluring and a different, but fun way to enjoy a catwalk. The Black Tape project is similar to this as well, but takes you all the way to the extreme of the spectrum with absolute openness and comfort on the side of the models and designer as he tapes the models from nearly nude to the collection style composed entirely of tape before they strut this style down the runway for the audience to appreciate more closely.

In a unifying fashion, the shows were in partnership with Ukrainian Fashion Week. The brands featured were Domanof, Gasanova, Gunia Project and Juliya Kros. With all the tragedy Ukraine has experienced due to the war, this is such a beautiful way to celebrate and uplift the creative, artistic spirit that is enduring through Ukrainian designers. 

Something else different but equally exciting was the CPHFW x Snapchat guide. Snapchat is still widely used and quite popular but a bit overshadowed by Instagram and TikTok. It's cool to see it come up in conversation at a major fashion industry event as still relevant and needed for brands and audiences.

 Let's talk about the landscape that Copenhagen provides as a backdrop to the fashion week shows. The street fashion of those attending the events and shows walking around the city's beautiful scenery are just as top as the collections being revealed. But, in Copenhagen it's easy to say that catching the streetwear of show goers is all the rage.
