As a cultural favorite, Frida Kahlo’s style became the center piece of her unique identity. This was influenced by her ethnicity, disability, and politics, which came to be found at the heart of her work and how she defined herself. According to Brooklyn Museum, the Frida Kahlo: Appearances Can Be Deceiving exhibit is going to be the largest U.S. exhibition in ten years devoted to Kahlo. It will display a collection of her clothing and other personal possessions, rediscovered in 2004 after being locked away since her death, in 1954.
