Styling Danseuse: Part 1

Hey Fashionistas!

We’ve been talking about our collaboration with the record label, RebelbyDesign Music Group, their film production company, Casa Film Productions and María del Mar, artist and founder of RbD and Casa, as well as us, E&G. Even though this collaboration and the parties involved are the brain child of María del Mar and her artistry, it takes a team and so many components to bring this collaboration to life. Styling the single cover for the song ‘Danseuse’ and the first part of the music video that Casa recently shot is part of that. Getting these looks done, photographed and filmed are another step towards bringing ‘Sounds of María’ to the world as a studio album, a visual dance album and a documentary film. We’re so excited to be sharing with you another step along the way!

So let’s get into these looks we share with you below. Both looks are supremely beachy. We wanted stand out looks that would not read as too overstated or too mutable on camera. This is what we came up with:

Ok, the first look is a raw capture of what will be edited into the single cover shot for ‘Danseuse’ to be released as a single off the ‘Sounds of María’ album. It’s a mix-n-match bikini, patterned top with a solid bottom that accents the orange in the bikini top. Make-up is bare minimum but glowy and the hair is a tousled blowout that is partially laid out on the sand. All of this is atop of a patterned sarong that was just big enough to create a body shape on top of so that the look has a cradled effect on the patch of sand in the photo.

Now, the second look is just as eye-catching in a different way. Since this look is for the first part of the ‘Danseuse’ music video we needed something that is sensual and subtle but has some kind of movement. We went with a natural, dark sea moss green bikini laden with sea charms that move during every step of the video. The charms are perfect and not too girlish, in our opinion. They are enough to catch the eye for scenes going into the water and coming out of the water, scenes where there is bigger movement such as running and scenes where all we see is a body pose against the backdrop of the ocean.

There is a fun behind the scenes blooper video on our Instagram and TikTok for you to see the second outfit in action.

Let us know what you liked and what the mood was for you looking at both outfits! We’ll catch up with you in the next post for a breakdown of the outfit put together parts of the ‘Clown Shit’ music video filmed in a mountain side house at the edge of the Amazon in Quito, Ecuador!

Stylishly yours,

~The E&G Team
