Fashion Hong Kong NYFW AW20
Fashion Hong Kong was our first event for New York Fashion Week Women’s Autumn/Winter 2020 shows. It was kind of a downer that it was drizzling so much outside while we piled up in line anxiously waiting to get in and be seated but as always NYFW The Shows made it as seamless as possible. This especially so, because they use barcode check-in which makes everyone’s live easier as far as seating and RSVP confirmations after you receive your initial invitations. Kudos for that!
It was so great to see this full line up from Hong Kong given all of the unfortunate chaos and devastation caused by the Corona Virus outbreak in China. Having recently visited Hong Kong late last year to check out some of their local fashion scene, it is a pleasure for us to see the Fashion Hong Kong Collection here in our home city of NYC. The collection this season included three designers: Heaven Please, SUN=SEN and Harrison Wong.
Heaven Please was so beautifully romantic and full of color. The whole collection was very soft and doll-like. SUN=SEN gave you more fun and play with a play on mixed patterns and colors in each ensemble, showing you sometimes there are no rules—just the ones you set for yourself. Harrison Wong brings outerwear to another level with combined matte and glossy winter fabrics. For example, a puffer coat that has a wool outer lining. It’s a new take on contemporary winter fashion on top of the sleek color blocking he uses in his designs. I think it’s safe to say everyone would like a second look at each collection. Luckily, FHK is hosting a showroom from February 4 - March 5. A great opportunity to spruce up your look for the rest of this winter season and get on top of your look for next fall and winter!
