NYFW Style Pointe Adrian Escoto SS18 Collection
Ballet + Catwalk = StylePointe.
This fun equation sums up two months of rehearsals and a collaboration between Armada Dance Company, a contemporary ballet company based out of downtown New York, and Adrian Escoto, a New York based designer. The Adrian Escoto Spring Summer 2018 Collection consisted of A-line and asymmetrical color-block patterns on jean material in a tight color family of blues and creamy white.
It took some work to smooth out the movement given the restrictions in the material, but Adrian Escoto is a flexible designer and was able to make adjustments for some of the long lines the choreography called for from the dancers. Skillfully choreographed by Jen Renoit, the piece came blended together two sections of choreo to seductive beats that moved the dancers from curtain wing to curtain wing.
